Based in Chicago, IL and beginning as an interdisciplinary design agency, Whim Golf is the offshoot of designer’s Colin Heaberg and Will Gisel’s long-standing partnership and dual fascination with the intersections of art and sport. Having met at age 13 at the oldest summer camp for boys in the United States, Camp Dudley, they began a two-decade long friendship that, over time, has evolved into Whim World - a holding company that provides product design for fashion, industrial, and digital projects for the likes of NoPattern and Benjamin Edgar. Inspired by their commitment to the creative process and a shared love of golf as sport, the two launched Whim Golf; a contemporary take on the classic aesthetics of the elitist game. Aiming to intersect fashion with the stylistic canon of golf, Heaberg and Gisel design with versatility and multitudes in mind. Classic polos are given a contemporary update with zipper details, cotton trousers are adorned with front-facing utility pockets, and nylon shorts present as a wearable piece on and off the green; all together working to create a conversation on accessibility and a youthful revitalization of the duo’s favorite game.
