Vincent Garnier Pressiat launched his eponymously named brand in 2020. After graduating from Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, the young designer went on to work for luxury titans such as John Galliano, Maison Margiela, Saint Laurent, and Balmain. Spurred on by the timing of the COVID pandemic, Pressiat launched his own line to materialize his desire to design clothing and couture that embraces gender fluidity. Synthesizing his own style and the experiences working under other brands, Pressiat produces collections that champion the French savoir faire while blurring and blending gender-coded design elements from past eras. The result is a sartorial world that encourages sensitive masculinity, formidable femininity, and empowered self-confidence with a cabaret-like showmanship. Pressiat brings historical influences including Victorian and 70’s fashion to ready-to-wear like precisely tailored long coats with exaggerated fur-lined collars, sequin-adorned power suits, and leather pants with corset-style ties; all intended to give the wearer an armor of individual expression.
