Introducing the Adidas Originals EQT Marathon Collection. Each shoe in this upcoming six city pack is inspired by an original-city series model shoe from the adidas archive and the release date of each shoe will coincide with the featured city's 2016 marathon.
The EQT Tokyo Support 93 was inspired by the Tokyo 64 racing spike, which was made famous by the American athlete Robert “Bob” Hayes. Hayes wore the shoe during the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Legend has it, that because of his immense power, he managed to “break” the shoe during one of his early heats. But that didn’t stop him from going on to win two gold medals in the 100m and 4x100m relay while wearing identical pair of shoes.
