Using a signature developed textile call Doomboh, which blends recycled yarn and other found fabrics, Vitelli intersects Italian artistry with a modern, sustainable edge. Founded in 2016 by Mauro Simionato, Vitelli has since become a collective of local Italian artisans and suppliers creating sustainably sourced and manufactured knitwear. Lending his experience from the founding of other ventures such as Volta, as well as the creative direction of brands including Belstaff and Golden Goose, Simionato established Vitelli with inspiration from the “Cosmic Youth” Italian youth movement of the early 80s. Utilizing strictly recycled materials including deadstock and leftover yarn from the region, Vitelli blends this method with a countercultural lens to create garments that are as progressive as they are experimental. With its innovative fabrics at the center of the design process, Vitelli employs abstract shapes, patterns, colors, and textures to reflect the subcultures from which it draws its core ethos.
