Designer Marine Serre’s eponymous label officially debuted in 2018 after several years of critical recognition during her time at Belgian fashion design academy La Cambre Mode(s). The French designer played tennis at a high level as a teenager before being inspired by her vintage-collector grandfather to pursue fashion design. After graduating with the highest honors in 2016, Serre interned under industry heavyweights including Matthieu Blazy for Maison Margiela and Raf Simons for Dior before earning a junior-designer position under Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga. Serre’s graduate collection in 2017 made her the youngest designer to win the LVMH prize. Serre uses her extensive experience to blend her diverse fashion influences, from sportswear to vintage, to innovate in both design and construction by using recycled, deadstock, and vintage materials in at least 50% of the brands collections. The iconic moon print and other graphics shine through in sportswear-inspired leggings, jumpsuits, and headbands, while the labels layered and nuanced design is further applied to deadstock patchwork denim, draped dresses, and sleek outwear.
